I have made this layout basing on Gestalt theory. I created an image by combining text and images. I use 2 colors are gray and purple. The white background i used to make attention and focus on pictures.
I wanna create a soft and simple layout.

ok so here the main title is to stuck at the top of the page, use more space, increase the margins.
Don't be shy, try to brake the formal lay-out in here, to use properly the Gestalt Theory, you have to create some groups and organize the space with them. Here in a simple article view, the 2 different elements are the block tex and the picture. So now try again with this issue and redesign your magazine lay-out following my suggestion. Have a look on my blog, the example based on Gestalt Theory as an article.
